First Pics
It has taken a little while (1st birthday parties and trips to Queensland in the middle) but over the weekend the sky cleared enough for me to take the first photos of the house as it arrived. (more photos after the jump).
We picked up the house from a framing shop in milperra and it's pretty clear that it has been handmade from leftovers from the shop. The trimmings around the edges are all old frames, but it has quite a distinguished effect. I haven't taken too much time yet to decide how to attack it, but the likelihood it that I will try to strip all the extra trimmings off it.
It is double story, although the top story is more just a big attic-ey void. The garage has both parts of the roof, but there is only one roof portion for the main building. That mostly ok though - I don't love the peaked roof, and we may try and figure out a way to square it off.
At the moment it is set so that all access is through the roof, hence the first floor (ceiling) is removable. I'm keen to see if we can hinge the front of the house so we have front access instead, and can have a fixed roof inside the building. I guess we will see.
